Unusual Crosscut Sled

It’s not the Ultimate.  It’s not the Perfect.  It’s the Unusual Crosscut Sled!

I made this Unusual one sorta just for fun.  It’s made of 1/2 inch Baltic Birch and has two of the corners cut off and a couple of ‘windows’ cut into the base, all of which help to make it lighter and easier to handle.

There is no back fence, and the front fence is ‘flat’ rather than upright.  Included is a dado in the base which extends back under the fence where sawdust can collect without hindering the use of the fence.

Here you can see the build-up of the fence and a little ‘thumb safety’ block.
